Recently in my well spent time at home I’ve begun and finished few projects, but this is one that I’ve taken a lot of joy in and gets the most comments from new and returning guests :) I hope I have more of these successful projects to invest myself into.. there really is nothing more satisfying than finishing something you’ve started!
Tip: I used cut outs from all my old anthropologie magazines (my favorite shop in the US) that were stacked on my once coffee table (another project in the making), to make the pinwheel shaped layers. Try it with some old mags or books you might find and see what you can create!

Friday was my amazing husbands birthday and we celebrated Saturday by going out to our favorite cafe Boucla. This cake souffra (i think that’s how you spell) is truly one of the most if not THE most beautiful things I’ve ever eaten! All that to say, I love my husband dearly and wait with expectation for the new year ahead :) here’s to husbands and birthdays ( and sweet cakes)!

Why work when you can BLOG

In honour of the freshly announced change of seasons here in Perth, I think I owe it to myself, friends and family (maybe even mother nature) to devote myself to a developing blog once again.

My last attempt was at a stage of bitter-sweet, when I left the country and home I grew up in to embark on an adventure that has now led me to meeting and marrying the man of my dreams and loving my new home and life to the point of overflow in my heart. The adventure is nowhere near at its end, but I (with my hubby, Josh) am hopeful for what is to come. It’s funny how swift a change of season can come, but sometimes there’s a delay in its full unveiling. It can sometimes make you anxious, giddy almost of when it will arrive, or sometimes it can just frustrate you cause you never know what to wear! This transition from Summer to Autumn is certainly taking its time.

It’s only now that I realize how much of a reflection this change of seasons is to my own life at the moment. Waiting on a Visa and the permanency that comes with it - can be like waiting for the next season to come. I look forward to this season coming to an end, but am waiting expectantly for the new one to arrive. (After all Autumn/Fall is my favourite season!).

With that being said, while I wait, and even in the post drama of it all, I would love to give you glimpses into Josh and I’s life that I hope will bring inspiration, encouragement and even evoke a laugh or two. It’s funny how when you think about starting a blog one of the things that is a con on your list is “will I have enough to talk about and share, my life is SO boring?” When in all reality I am already bursting at the seams with things to write and depict to inform you of…. I best get a move on it! :)

With love and great determination for now… J&J
